Introduction
The medical and health services development in Indonesia in order to deal with free-competition requires more faultless medical personnel. To reaching that point, it demands an improvement of the quality of medical and health services process and also demands of the development of high-quality services. Quality service will be able to reach the optimal point if the health personnels have the maximum capacity in carrying out their tasks and functions. By providing services that are accountable, thus the utilization and in turn provide the nature of competition. Overall, only medical and health personnel who able to maintain the existence of the nation’s duty bearer in their own nation in an effort to improve the quality of life of the nation.
There are several main issues considering this matter. First, all medical personnel participating in this free competition must have a scientific spirit in an effort to solve the medical and health science problems. Second, all medical personnel must have the willingness and ability at every available opportunity to increase their capacity as a provider, educator and researcher in medicine and health science field. Third, all medical personnel must have the ability to update the latest evidence-based medicine and health science as a tool to improve provider performance.
There are two main pathways for medical personnel to pursue a career after completing a doctor’s education or other health educations. The first is continuing education in an effort to improve the function of management of health care system. Second, to continue education in an effort to increase the ability to provide medical services to patients wherever and on any occasion. This course will emphasize the second track.
In an effort to provide optimal service to patients, a medical personnel requires the ability to apply the right and proper knowledge and technology in medicine and health science field, obtain and apply information of medical and health science research results correctly and accurately, conduct monitoring and evaluation of the health service outcomes and medical procedures they have applied, and conduct medical and health research correctly and appropriately in accordance with the science merits and principles.
